The family of the Minority Leader of House of Representatives, Samson
Osagie, was thrown into confusion yesterday morning following the
abduction of his father by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.
The
75-year old Pa Samson Imariagbe was reportedly kidnapped from his
village, Urhokuosa in Uhunmwode Local Government area of Edo State.
When
contacted on phone, Osagie who confirmed the incident said the
kidnappers were yet to make contact with the family, adding that calls
made to his father’s phone indicated that it was switched off.
Pa
Osagie narrowly escaped death when he was involved in a ghastly accident
along Benin/Abuja Road on his way home after the inauguration of the
National Assembly.
The crash claimed three lives, including the lawmaker’s driver and others.
When contacted, Edo state Police Command spokesman, ASP Etim Bassey said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
