My Father Raped Me For 5 Years —Teenager

A Nigerian teenager has told to the Police in Lagos Nigeria, that her  49 year old father serially raped her for five years during which she was impregnated twice and the pregnacies were aborted with the aid of a herbalist.
She told the police at Ojo area of Lagos State where the suspect was being held that during the period she was traumatised but there was nobody to assist her because her mother left her father when she was only two years old.
According to her, Akinusi impregnated her mother who was then a Junior Secondary School, JS3 student when her (father) was an apprentice.
Initially, he encouraged the woman to abort the pregnancy but she refused to terminate it and promised to take care of the baby alone.
She further disclosed that when she was two years old, she was given to her grandmother to raise.
But at the age of 12, her father came to her grandmother to collect her with a promise to give her the best of education.

She said: “when my father came to bring me from my grandmother, I was happy because he promised to give me the best of education. Little did I know he did it to satisfy his sexual desire.”

She regretted that after several months, she was not enrolled in a school and the sexual assault started one night when her father took her to his room and forced her to have sex with him.

“He told me he had an oath with my mother that he will be the first man to have sex with me. This, he said would give him a spiritual power to become prosperous,” the 17-year old girl narrated.

She added that at 12, she was too young to understand what her father was talking. And she could not resist him.

After the first night, her father was having sex with her regularly against her consent for five years which resulted in pregnancies twice that were terminated.

Police sources said investigation into the crime was ongoing while the suspect will be charged to court at the completion of police investigation.
