Charly Boy - born Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa (also spelt Charlie Boy and known as CB, His Royal Punkness, and Area Fada) - is a Nigerian singer/songwriter, television presenter, journalist, producer and one of Nigeria's most controversial entertainers, best known for his maverick lifestyle, biker style, political views, and his television productions, most notably The Charly Boy Show. Formerly president of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, he is now an Idol Series judge.
The punk king Charly Boy whose antics have given a
new name to shock therapy. We've seen him on his power-bike, we've
seen him with make up on and eye lashes. We've seen this 60
something year old Area Fada, cry shamelessly and remove his clothes when his favourite
contestant left the competition and we have all seen him declare love for one
of his contestants and he has begged contestants to slap him!
What more can I say... Has he gone crazy?
