Gunmen kill soldiers and policemen in Bayelsa

Gunmen suspected to be Militants on Thursday unleashed terror on security operatives in Bayelsa State, killing soldiers and policemen at different points along the state’s waterways.
It was reported that  unidentified gunmen operating on three speedboats attacked soldiers attached to the Joint Task Force, codenamed Operation Pulo Shield, in the Niger Delta region.
“The gunmen in three speedboats accelerated towards the soldiers who were going to Ogbia waterside and opened fire on them. The soldiers were taken by surprise and they could not react quickly. After shooting the soldiers, the gunmen immediately fled the scene”, a source said.
Eyewitnesses said the police and military personnel were ambushed by the yet to be identified gunmen suspected to be pirates in separate attacks.
May the officers souls rest in peace.
