Chioma Gabriel alleged that Ogu forcefully touched her breasts without her consent and demanded sex from her against her wish.
He was arrested by the police and arraigned before Yaba Magistrate’s Court in Lagos State for sexual harassment and assault.
Ogu was subsequently remanded at the Ikoyi prison, Lagos after he pleaded not guilty and was granted bail, but could not fullfil his bail conditions.
Chioma said the incident happened at Masalasi Street, Ifako-Gbagada, Lagos, on her way from the market.
it was gathered that Ogu had attempted to woo Chioma as his lover but she refused.
Chioma alleged that Ogu afterwards fondled her breasts thus embarrassing her in public.
She went to the Ifako police station and reported the matter and the police arrested and charged the accused to court for the offence.
The offence he committed, accoding to the prosecutor, Essien, was contrary to section 261 of the Criminal Code Law of Lagos State 2011.
When he pleaded not guilty, the presiding Magistrate, Mrs M. O. Olajuwon, granted him bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
