Father mistakenly shows porn at kids party instead of The Smurfs DVD.
A man throwing a birthday party
for his child accidentally switched on porn for the youngsters instead
of a much more child-friendly film choice.
The unidentified dad from Tremonton, Utah had intended to turn on The Smurfs movie, which he had rented from a Redbox film kiosk.
But after putting the DVD into his laptop and turning on the device, pornographic images were projected onto a large screen.
The youngsters attending the party saw the graphic images, police told the Standard Examiner.
The father later contacted police to say someone had tampered with the rented DVD
But police did not find any evidence of this, and believe the porn was probably already on the man's computer.
Officers will not be investigating the incident or seek criminal charges.
They believe the incident was an 'accident', according to police chief Dave Nance.
The dad has been left embarrassed by the mistake, he added.
