Where Tiwa Got it Wrong… Was when she believed she was the one.

I’ve said it.

Before you judge me for judging a woman for a man’s mischief, I implore you to read on.
By now so much has been said about the explosive social media storm Tee Billz’s posts online stirred that many may think there is nothing new under the sky to say about the erstwhile couple.

Many think pieces have run up countless column inches in the Nigerian papers and online – on anything from Tee Billz’s alleged depression and suicide attempt to his financial troubles, from Tiwa’s epic fail of an interview following the news of the breakdown of their marriage to Tee Billz’s epic failure as a husband.

Perhaps one fault that we all failed to pick, amongst Tiwa’s many other faults we ripped apart over the last two weeks, is where she had it all wrong – when she believed she was the one.

In last week’s, in my opinion, half-baked and ill-judged interview with Pulse Nigeria, Tiwa clearly admitted people had warned her against Tee Billz.

Deep inside, behind the steely exterior, we are all girls fed on fairy tales. While no grown woman would ever entertain the thought of being misled by Cinderella or Rapunzel, there is a little girl in all of us who secretly still believes in the presence of the knight in shining armour as much as she does in the possibility of happy ever after.

While no longer damsels in distress awaiting rescue, we still hold on to the mirage of being the one to change the “fine and troubled prince”. If you for a minute shelf the Grimm Tales and turn to Hamlet, you will find that literature warns of a watery end to such mighty delusions. Even then, in as much as we refute Cinderella, we all revert to Ophelia.

Tiwa is not the first, neither will she be the last. Look around you, how many stories have you been told or personally witnessed of women exploited, manipulated and abused by their men. And it is often women who we always thought as strong, self-assured and confident.

In complete contrast to the knight in shining armour who swoop in to rescue the damsel in distress there are predatory men in this world, sadly, who are wolves in sheep’s clothing who scarper in to chip away, tear apart and break down strong women. Flip the story of ‘the one’ who will love, cherish and honour their woman, that one true love leading to the happy ever after, those broken men women feel they are ‘one’ to change, tame, save a broken man.

Stella Damasus Closes Facebook Account

This may be bad news for fans of Stella Damasus, but she did send out this message last weekend, via Instagram, that she will “no longer have a Facebook account”.

Damasus had previously complained that her image was being rubbished, as someone was using her name in the social media to solicit for funds.

“Just to let you know that I am shutting down all my Facebook accounts. I need to protect myself and image the best way I can, as some impersonators have started using my name to collect money from innocent people who want to get into the movie industry. Please, spread the word and let your friends know that after today any Stella Damasus [they see] on Facebook is not me,” she posted.

For about thirty years, Peller held the world’s most populous black nation spellbound with millions gasping at the whisk of his wand. I hope you find this magical.

BIRTH AND EARLY DAYS

Here, Peller is shown with the love of his life and assistant magician, Alhaja Silifat. 

He was born in 1941 at Iseyin and he was named Moshood Folorunsho Abiola. He would later pick on the stage name of ‘Professor Peller’, an appellation that has stuck to him like a second skin.

HIS MAGICAL PERFORMANCES AND EXPLOITS

When Professor Peller was alive, he was the most brilliant magician in all of Africa. I am not too sure if the record has been broken. Even in death, Peller remains the greatest of all. He performed not only before princes but also held kings spellbound with his magic. Contrary to the reports making waves in some newspapers and blog site, Debie Rise Nigerian Idol car gift was not smashed by her lover rather it was a “Psycho” stalking her while she attended an event did that.

She was so furious that the interview she granted was misinterpreted.

When I read the news online and on newspaper, I contacted her and she said...

“My Car was smashed when I went for an event, but before then someone had been stalking me, requesting for my contact by all means. Initially I took him as a fan, later it occurred to me that he was just a Psycho!”

“I remember telling him off and he promised to get back. When I came out of the event I saw my wind screen smashed”

“ I reported the case… and the only person that I could think of was the stalker that claimed he wanted me and my contact and all…”

He was the suspect and was almost caught…but because the issue was lingering I had to fix it myself”

Six years  after

I have grown in so many ways. Emotionally and spiritually, I have become more matured. I have also  made a name for myself in the industry as a star. Since my debut in the industry in 2006, I have not recorded any misgiving , disappointment or ugly incident. But there was one that I had recently which affected me. It was the fight I had with a marketer called AMACO Investment.

It was one incident, I really regretted. I never knew I could get  such an assault from Nollywood. I don’t care because I’m more stronger today. I can always overcome any challenge that comes my way at this moment.

Allegation of abandoning the set

I can’t answer that question. If you are asking me what happened between myself and the marketer, I will tell you my own side of the story. But I don’t want to  talk about the incident now because I’m putting it on hold at the moment.

I want to institute a legal action against the marketer. But  his association somehow intervened and appealed to me to put it on hold  for some time. I have a lot of respects for  their judgment, and the  manner in which they handled the matter so far.

Why I delved into movie production

It started with Memories of My Heart. I saw the script and I liked it. I decided to continue with it. You can get bored if you stick to one thing. I decided to do something different and I enjoyed it. So I decided to continue with it. I will continue producing movies, though it is not going to be regular. It is not as if it is going to be a one-off thing. I have done a third movie. We just finished shooting.

No regrets being an actress

I don’t regret being an actress. In fact, I feel I am actually blessed being in this profession. I love acting, despite the negative aspect that comes with it. I don’t think I would have loved to do another thing. But, sometimes, I am bothered by the things that are written about me, especially if they are not true. I have taken some legal steps before. That is the only way we can fight back. In all, I intend to be an actress for a long time. Even if I am not acting, I will be in the movie business.

Marriage and acting

I have been able to hold on to my marriage. It depends on how you set your priorities and not get carried away by the whole thing. You should know when to be somewhere and when not to be in another place. I just create a balance between my career and my life. My husband is based in the United States of America, but we see each other all the time. He just left Nigeria in January. I will be in the US soon. It is either he is here or I am there. I don’t think I will quit acting. I might divert to other areas that have to do with the movies. Talking about the scandals, my husband knows me more than any other person. Sometimes, when they say things about me, we are together at that moment. He will look at me and ask if I am the same person that people talk about. He knows what I can do.

My first introduction to sex was rape. It was with one of our tenants. I got so close to him and saw him as an elder brother. He looked at me as someone that had been exposed because I was busty and he thought I had had a sexual experience before. So he had his way with me. Then it was not something you tell the whole world. People said we should keep quiet about it. Then they tried to make trouble with him but subsequently people said we should keep quiet about it. My experience as a busty lady

At the initial stage, I used to be so ashamed of myself. At that time, I would wear clothes that would not let my bust be noticeable. I was trying everything I could so that it would not be obvious. Subsequently, when I started acting and reading books, I read a book that said the best admirer you have is yourself and the way you carry yourself is how people would take you. I had to psyche myself to love it. After I did so, I noticed that I was getting advances even from people I didn’t expect, like some of my late father’s friends. Being a deep thinker, I always look at the advantage of everything, I saw that it was something I could not change so I had to make the best out of it.

REVIVAL TIME: Wake Up People, Please Wake Up!

The above topic is what I have been saying to as many people as I can reach out to. Have you not noticed how everything we read about is negative? All we see in the news is economic crash, war, hunger, murder, bomb blasts, removal of subsidy and it’s outcome, police brutality, corruption, terrorism, hurricanes, flood, fire outbreaks, incurable diseases, unexplained epidemics, a major drop in academics, increase in jobless youths, armed robbery. Should I go on?

I am sure your list is even longer than mine, and I am also sure that sometimes you get tired of turning the television on because you know that all you will see are things that will depress you and make you worry, or even put fear in you.

I know that I am actually tired so I find myself intentionally looking for positive things that will put a smile on my face, brighten up my day, give me hope for a better tomorrow, lift my spirit, help me love more and live better.

I must admit that in the midst of all the chaos, it is extremely difficult to remain positive and hopeful. Where we do we turn to, our churches? Well even some religious leaders are afraid. Where do we run to, America?

Hmmmmm you better read the news and find out all the issues they are facing there too. Who do we cry to, the government? Ha ha ha ha… that’s so funny. We have tried that, have we not?

Most of us are in a state of despair and are taking life each day as it comes. People have lost hope, faith, joy, peace, love, unity, mental freedom and financial freedom.

I listened carefully to the stories my mother used to tell me about how life was in her days and I found myself almost saying I wish I was born then.

I had a conversation with my mum late last year and we were talking about things that were happening around the world, the things that young children get up to these days, the obscenity that the media celebrates and so on.

The Untold Story Of Bisi Komolafe's Mysterious Death: She Died Of Spiritual Attack

The Nigerian entertainment industry was thrown into a mourning mood on Monday, December 31st, 2012 when news broke that popular Yoruba movie star, Bisi Komolafe is dead.
The talented thespian died at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan.Findings revealed that Bisi battled with an undisclosed illness that kept her in and out of hospital for more than 3 months.A close friend of the actress revealed to us that Bisi was a few weeks pregnant before the illness started, and that the pregnancy had to be terminated at the hospital to save her life when her condition got worse.
Further digs by us revealed that her death was as a result of several spiritual attacks she suffered lately.

Nollywood Actress, Bisi Komolafe Goes Home (Lying in State Pic, Viewers' Discretion Advised)

Bisi Komolafe, the Yoruba movie actress, who died in the early hours of 1 January at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, western Nigeria, was buried amid tears Friday morning. Her corpse was received by her family and colleagues at the UCH mortuary, after which it was taken for a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Oke Padre in Ibadan. She was then buried at a cemetery a few metres away from the mortuary.It was  gathered,  that the late Bisi,  was in and out of the hospital for about three months after she had a miscarriage, which resulted in complications.
