The equivalent of money he allegedly stole was N32 million.
The
court where he is standing trial for conspiracy and stealing ordered
that he should be remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri Apapa, Lagos.
P.M.NEWS gathered that Nnaemeka’s employer, Access Bank Plc asked him to take the money from Abuja to a Lagos branch.
He
was handed over the box containing the money and key and escorted to
Abuja Airport en route to Muritala International Airport, Lagos with
heavy security.
At the Abuja Airport, he boarded Arik Air plane
while the security was waiting for him at Lagos airport to escort him to
his destination.
When the bank management counted the money, $200,000 was missing.
He
reportedly told the management that he opened the box after he
suspected that some one might have tampered with the money inside the
plane.
The management handed him over to the police at SCID panti, Yaba as suspect because he was the only person with the key.
He
was charged to court for conspiracy and stealing under sections 409 and
285 of the criminal code Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.
He
pleaded not guilty. The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Chrisiana
Adesola-Ikpatt granted him bail in the sum of N5 million with two
sureties in like sum.
The matter was adjourned til 8 October, 2012.
He was remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri, Lagos until he meets his bail conditions.
